About the Author

Storytelling comes naturally to me, organic as my Southern roots planted in the red clay beneath me, essential as the Carolina blue sky above me.

I believe a good writer never forces the characters. I don't coerce or demand or hold them captive between plot lines and outlines. I observe, sometimes discouraged and disappointed by their choices, other times amazed by their strength.

I want my writing to spark memories, arouse passions, and provoke conversations, to have readers recognize, reflect, and react.

I used to believe my words and stories could change people, but I have learned that writing has changed me more.
